Carbometrix is proud to engage with Crédit Agricole d'Ile-de-France to offer an innovative solution that aims at decarbonising companies. This key bank in France is committed to helping SMEs, mid-sized and large companies to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, with the help of Carbometrix, and it is the first bank to offer its customers innovative financing to encourage them to reduce their carbon footprint. This financing solution is directly in line with the ambitions of the bank to support the transitions of businesses in the Ile-de-France region to a low-carbon economy.
The 'Crédit Trajectoire Décarbonation' is a simple financing scheme for all companies wishing to make a voluntary and ambitious commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Crédit Agricole d'Ile-de-France offers this loan to all its business customers, starting from 1 million euros in financing.
The 'Crédit Trajectoire Décarbonation' includes an improvement in the rate, through a single extra-financial criterion: the reduction of the total carbon footprint (scopes 1,2 and 3). This financing is based on the Carbometrix solution, which will calculate each year the carbon footprint of the entire value chain of the financed company, regardless of its sector of activity, according to the methodology of the GHG Protocol.
In addition to the detailed emissions by major category (building, transport, purchasing, information systems, etc.), companies benefit from a benchmark against peers in their industry and initial personalized and quantified decarbonization recommendations. The 'Crédit Trajectoire Décarbonation' was thus created to support the implementation of ambitious decarbonization objectives, in line with international scientific recommendations, to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and the climate commitment of 1.5 degrees.
This financing solution was designed to raise awareness among our Business customers of their carbon footprint, to support them in setting up ambitious initial targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, while preparing them for future regulatory changes, in particular the " Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive" which will gradually come into force in 2024 in the EU.
Maximilien Thivolle, ESG Manager Crédit Agricole d’Ile-de-France
Crédit Agricole d'Ile-de-France is clearly a pioneer in launching this offer since it concerns all financing from €1 million for any company. It is very innovative insofar as it is indexed on decarbonization objectives which are quantified, enforceable on the basis of an international method and ultimately extremely binding for the company.
